We were all horrified by terrorist activities, so I  can understand the desire to ban or restrict weapons. Despite strict gun laws in Paris and California, criminals still carry out these atrocities. Even if all weapons were banned, criminals do not obey laws and can build bombs from common household products. I also understand the need to have weapons for self defense, but automatic weapons are dangerous and are banned. Semi-automatic weapons that are easily converted should be restricted.

One solution can be found in Jerusalem. The Major of Jerusalem has a large Jewish/Muslim population living in relative peace in a hostile region. Their answer is to use sophisticated surveillance of both Muslim and Jewish extremists, and, they allow every law abiding citizen to carry a gun if they are registered. This helps ensure that only law abiding citizens have guns.

Artificial Intelligence is developing rapidly and can be weaponized and jail broken and should also be regulated. Directed Energy weapons are becoming more prevalent and should be restricted or banned in residential neighborhoods. 5G networks have phased array antennas that can be used as a DEW and should be carefully monitored and restricted.
