The top priority of our government is national defense. To keep the peace, we need to modernize our military as a deterrent but promote peace and a respect for international law. There are threats by Russia, China, Iran, North Korea (BRIC) that are trying to expand their power and/or boundaries, so we need to work with them and our allies to ensure they follow international law.
- China should stop building air bases in the South China seas and threatening Taiwan or risk sanctions.
- The US should continue assisting Ukraine and sanctioning Russia until they stop they’re illegal invasion of Ukraine. Any negotiations should ensure Ukrainian’s future sovereignty and territorial integrity. Zelenskyy’s offer of limited trade of territory and partnerships in rare earth minerals make sense, so the US should continue supporting Ukraine until they receive guarantees for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
- In a shameful reversal of policy, the US refused to condemn Russia at the UN in 2/25. The best way to maintain world peace is to help enforce international law which Russia has consistently violated. This is leading to an emboldened Putin that is violating cease fire agreements and building up troops again on the border with NATO.
- Defense Secretary Hegseth Orders Cyber Command to ‘Stand Down’ on all Russia Operations, despite Russia being the biggest cyber threat to the US in the past decade and, cyber terrorism on the rise (see article).
- Shortly after DOGE entered the computer systems for the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), a computer in Russia tried to enter their systems with valid credentials according to a computer specialists at the NLRB (see article).
- The War in Gaza has led to over 60,000 deaths amongst the civilian population and must end. The US and the UN must assist in ending the war to ensure a lasting peace by ensuring that both sides respect international law.
- The public does not support Nazi fascism which committed unspeakable war crimes.
- Trump has offered to sell the F-35 fighter to India, despite their membership in BRIC. This should only be done on the condition they exit BRIC and join NATO or else this advanced technology will wind up in Russia and China.
- The US should continue working with Iran to prevent the proliferation of Nuclear weapons but Tulsi Gabbard said that Iran is not near to achieving weapons grade plutonium so the use of military force is premature. Furthermore, civilian attacks are against international law and should be avoided.
- There are very disturbing indications that Trump is aligning with Putin, who is a Dictator and international criminal, and this could result in a Putin-style, fascist Oligarchy in the US, and an end to Democracy. India, China and Russia have a Crony Capitalist Oligarchy while the US merit based capitalism has achieved superior results in the past, so adoption of this type of government should be firmly rejected.
