We are all immigrants and the U.S. Benefits greatly from immigration, but we continue to have on-going issues. The federal government and the states normally work together to ensure an adequate number of VISA’s and the appropriate level of enforcement in each state but this issue has been politicized in recent times.

We do not support inhumane treatment of immigrants and enforcement should be conducted in a civil manner that is agreed to by both parties and beneficial to the community.

People have a right to protest heavy-handed enforcement policies by ICE and should not be arrested or attacked for exercising their constitutional rights. ICE agents outnumber the local police in Minneapolis (3000/600) and 3 people (2 US citizens) have been shot by ICE in the past 3 weeks so residents are in fear of being shot for simply going outside. The apparent criminal shooting of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by ICE should be investigated by the Minnesota justice department since ICE cannot be trusted to enforce the law fairly. Witnesses and video show that ICE agents pepper sprayed, tackled Petti while he was filming them and then shot him when he was unarmed and then Bovino and Noem made false allegations to spin him as a dangerous criminal that attacked the officers with a weapon. Video also shows Renee Good did not do anything wrong, but was approached by ICE officers while in her car and then shot while trying to leave. Contrary to the lies and disinformation being spewed by some, ICE does not have absolute immunity and are subject to criminal and civil rights laws like the rest of us.

Since ICE is repeatedly inciting violence by tear gassing protesters and shooting them with rubber bullets, killing innocent civilians, obstructing justice, ignoring court orders and providing false information, they should have their funding significantly reduced. ICE funding has increased from $10B to S27B under Trump, staffing has doubled and new offices are being opened throughout the US and these funds are being wasted on mostly non-violent offenders that would leave on their own if they weren’t being offered jobs by US citizens that need them for business or home. It is also creating a Totalitarian state by Maga/Big Tech/Palantir that affects every citizen in the US (which I suspect is the main reason behind this build up).

A full investigation should be completed and their leaders fired to prevent further incidents. Business and labor unions are supporting this effort with National Protests, Boycotts and Strikes (PBS).
